New Hampshire Maternity & Newborn Photography at The Fells and Occom Pond | New Hampshire Photographer
This wonderful couple reached out to me in November of 2019 to book a bundled newborn and maternity session for their baby due the following summer. I remember the day we met for coffee at Umpleby’s. It was freezing and the spring and summer felt so far off. I was touched that they reached out so early to reserve their dates before my calendar filled up.
Thankful that despite closures in response to COVID-19, The Fells in Newbury, NH kept their grounds open to the public, which is where we held their maternity session in late May. It turned out to be exactly the spot that they had envisioned. I created many images of them together as a couple as well as portraits of mom-to-be. I took extra care to emphasize their union in an emotive way, to preserve these quiet moments they have together, alone, before the transition that comes with a new baby. I am thrilled by the dreamy and romantic quality of their images, and gorgeous foliage and garden setting at The Fells.
Newborn sessions are usually held at home where everyone is comfortable, necessities are in reach, and temperature and weather are of little concern. During the pandemic, the parents wisely chose an outdoor session to keep baby and everyone safe. We opted for the Dartmouth Outing Club on Occom Pond in Hanover. They brought an adorable (and I mean adorable!) wagon and grass basket. I created natural images of their bond and portraits of their sweet new baby.
I feel so honored to have photographed this family and hope their images bring joy and help tell the wonderful story of who they are for future generations to come.
