Fall Vermont Wedding at The Inn at Round Barn Farm, the bride and groom stand near the field with cows in the distance

Fall Vermont Wedding at The Inn at Round Barn Farm

Emma and Stephen shared in a classic fall Vermont wedding at The Inn at Round Barn Farm. Every aspect was full of Vermont fall wedding vibes such as the twinkling, rustic interior of the barn and bucolic setting of the venue, the livestock who joined us in the field behind the ceremony, delicious ice cream from the Ben & Jerry’s cart, elegant white mums and pumpkins, heart-shaped maple lollipop favors, and personal details that told the story of the couples journey together, such as the postcards they used from their travels for a seating chart and table toppers. Their wedding day was a celebration of wonderful friends and family and their commitment to each other.

Wedding at The Inn at Round Barn Farm

The Inn at Round Barn Farm dates back to 1910, and legend says the reason for a round-shaped barn is so that the devil can’t catch you in the corners, though for farmers, the round shape made for a good use of space. Whatever the reason, the unique round barn is a rustic and elegant setting for a wedding, as well as it’s sprawling grounds shrouded in beautiful landscaping, trees, terracing, flower gardens, a pond, pasture views, and historic buildings. It’s so Vermont, and no words accurately describe it–you must pay a visit to

First Look & Portraits

We captured a beautiful and emotional first look on the terrace with views of surrounding hills, foliage, and fields in views. The couple chose to read private vows to each other with their parents standing by. Then we moved throughout the grounds to capture timeless portraits of the couple in the gardens, by the fields with the cows in the distance, on the foot bridge, and some of my favorite portraits were made after the ceremony in front of the inn and barn.

The Ceremony by The Fence & Pasture

The couple chose to hold their ceremony by the fence with the hills and field in the distance. The cows joined us for a bit while the guests entered and were serenaded by violin music provided by a member of the wedding party. Guests and the wedding party made a lovely entrance into the ceremony via the footbridge on the property, which doubles as a wonderful spot for portraits!

Round Barn Cocktail Hour and Reception

The cocktail hour was a festive time on the terrace where guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, wine, and the couple’s signature cocktail (Bee’s Knees and Vermont Smash) while laughter, great conversation—and numerous selfies!—filled the space. The reception glowed under a warm ambience of chandeliers, strand lights, and candles. Lively entertainment from A House on Fire band got the guests up and dancing, and eventually cooled down off the dance floor with tasty Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. At the end of the evening, I led Emma & Stephen outside for a creative light portrait in front of the barn entrance and glow from the party inside.

It was an honor to capture such a beautiful and joyous celebration. I wish the couple a lifetime of happiness together and many more adventurous travels in their future!
