Grafton, Vermont | Riverledge Farm Rustic Fall Wedding | Vermont Wedding Photographer
Mollie and Alex had were married at Riverledge Farm on the first day of October in charming Grafton, Vermont. Fall Vermont weddings are always some of my favorite, and their’s was no exception. Mollie, Alex, and I visited Riverledge in the summer for their engagement session, which granted the opportunity to explore and scout beautiful portrait locations on the grounds, and get to know each other before the big day. We were giddy with excitement by the end of the session with the beauty this venue affords. There are countless scenic angles and nooks among the pond and willow tree, the barn, farmhouse, stone wall, split-rail fences, the sugar house, pathways, and more. Even between the engagement session and their wedding, I don’t think we discovered them all!
In addition to the beautiful engagement session, meeting before the wedding gave us a level of comfort which helps make great images on the wedding day.
The Wedding Day
Mollie and Alex were married at the pond under a giant arbor decorated with tulle, flowers and lanterns. There were many fun decorative touches that brought the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception to life and spoke of their journey as a couple. I especially loved the decorated bicycle to direct parking, wooden crates and baskets filled with hydrangeas, and mason jars and lanterns overflowing with florals. I still can’t get over the incredible bouquets that Mollie made for her and her bridesmaids! How about that beautiful fabric that hangs above the dance floor?! It lends such wonderful texture to the first dance images. I was especially drawn to the scrumptious treats and beautiful cake by Reilly McCarty of Butterfat Desserts. The cake and desserts were arranged on displays throughout the outside terrace. They looked especially wonderful at night with the glow of twinkle lights and warmth of the fading sunlight. I’m overwhelmed to describe the beauty of their day, and hope the images showcase its splendor in a way my words fail to do so.
Mollie wore an elegant white dress with a stunning veil appliquéd with flowers and leaves, which made for a most stunning veil shot! Alex and his groomsmen wore grey suits paired with the bridesmaids navy Azazie gowns. Their first look and portrait session was such a highlight. It gave them time to be alone on their wedding day before the excitement of the ceremony and reception began.
It’s brings me joy to know Mollie and Alex, and is bittersweet their day has come and gone! Wishing these two all the best for their future, and my gratitude for trusting us to capture this most special day!
