Fall Orchard Wedding at Connemara House | New England Wedding Photographer
Dorothy and Adam’s early fall wedding at the Connemara House in Topsfield, Massachusetts, was a celebration of love and their enduring relationship which began as college sweethearts. After a dream engagement that Adam and friends planned for Dorothy in a vineyard on their tenth anniversary, their stunning wedding unfolded on the orchard grounds of Connemara House, a venue that tied together a part of their story. I connected with them a year before the wedding at their sunny, flower-filled and architecture-rich engagement session at Crane Estate, where I got to know this kind, clever, open-hearted couple.
Wedding Day at Connemara House, Topsfield, MA
Despite the threat of tropical storm Lee, only a bit of wind brushed through, allowing their special outdoor ceremony by the grand maple tree to proceed as planned. Both Adam and Dorothy readied for the day at Connemara House on separate floors. I floated between them, documenting candid moments, dressing, and the joyful preparations with their wedding party and family. The light-filled interiors and tasteful styling of Connemara House provided a beautiful backdrop for these images. The orchard became the setting for wedding party and family portraits, offering depth and beauty, and shelter from the winds.
The wedding was rich with personal touches: a champagne tower toast celebrated with their wedding party and close family marked the ceremony’s conclusion. In a nod to the venue’s orchard, guests were gifted cutting boards and jam, and a photo wall and station charmingly named “Appley Ever After” provided a fun entertainment and mementos for guests. The color theme, beige and champagne, along with abundant florals, set a tone of understated elegance. The overcast skies gave way to a beautiful sunset, under which we captured magical portraits in the orchard, creating some of my favorite images from their day.
Dorothy and Adam’s wedding celebrated their union and journey together, from college sweethearts to partners for life, against the picturesque backdrop of Connemara House, surrounded by the best of friends and loving family.
