East Fairfield, Vermont | Rainy Romantic Engagement Session at Family Farm
As a native Vermonter, I have a special place in my heart for creating images on beautiful land steeped in history. Catherine and Aaron have chosen to get married at a place close to their hearts—the family farm! I love to include engagement sessions for couples who choose me to photograph their wedding. It’s nice to meet and get to know each other before the big day when the pressure’s off, and to chat a bit in person about wedding plans. I also adore creating images for couples, and gifting these sessions as part of my package is also a bit of a gift to me.
Catherine and Aaron live in Colorado and were coming into town just as I was leaving for the weekend. Our schedules overlapped just by one evening, which is when we decided to meet for their session. It really wasn’t the greatest weather, and their plane arrived a bit late, so we battled dim light and spotty showers. But determined to make this work—despite having to sit on the tarmac and endure a long flight, plus drive and hour to meet me at their home—this couple were nothing but smiles and a good attitude throughout. I admire their spirits!
We photographed at several spots around the property, including a beautiful wrap around farmer’s porch, the field where they will hold their ceremony and reception, and the sugarhouse. I am so excited to be with this couple again in August on their special day. No doubt it’s going to be as lovely as they are!
