Fall Orchard Wedding at Connemara House

Dorothy and Adam’s early fall wedding at Connemara House in Topsfield, Massachusetts, was a celebration of love and their enduring relationship which began as college sweethearts. After a dream engagement that Adam and friends planned for Dorothy in a vineyard on their tenth anniversary, their stunning wedding unfolded on the orchard grounds of Connemara House, a venue that tied together a part of their story. I connected with them a year before the wedding at their sunny, flower-filled and architecture-rich engagement session at Crane Estate, where I got to know this kind, clever, open-hearted couple.

Wedding Day at Connemara House, Topsfield, MA

Despite the threat of tropical storm Lee, only a bit of wind brushed through, allowing their outdoor ceremony by the grand maple tree to proceed as planned. Both Adam and Dorothy readied for the day at Connemara House on separate floors. I floated between them, documenting candid moments, putting on their wedding clothes, and joyful moments with their wedding party and family. The beautiful interior of Connemara House provided a wonderful backdrop for these images. We captured wedding party and family photos in the orchard, and also inside the lovely foyer, when the wind became a bit much.

The wedding was full of personal touches. Their ceremony concluded with a champagne tower toast with their wedding party and family. In a nod to the venue’s orchard, guests received cutting boards and jam. A photo wall and station cleverly named “Appley Ever After” provided fun and mementos for guests. The color theme, beige and champagne, along with elegant florals, set a tone of elegance. The overcast skies gave way to a beautiful sunset, perfect for their golden hour portraits, some of my favorite images from their day.
