Whether you are expecting your first or your fifth, having a baby and raising a newborn really is the longest shortest time. The images from your maternity & newborn photo session will lend beautiful memories of this quickly changing, fleeting time, that you can share as your family continues to grow. While you are expecting, I’ll capture your lovely maternal shape and the connection you have with your partner and children in the moments leading up to birth. When your newborn arrives, we’ll create intimate images of your new routine, your growing bond, and your fresh, little one.

WHAT TO EXPECT: MATERNITY PHOTO SESSION

Lifestyle photography is rooted in capturing connection and details in your everyday life. The maternity session will focus on you and your partner and children engaging with each other, with a special emphasis on portraits of motherhood. Sessions are often held outside, and may be dressy or casual.

WHAT TO EXPECT: NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION

When your newborn arrives, this session will highlight the family’s bond, with emphasis your connection with your newborn, together as a family, each parent individually with baby, and siblings. Most sessions are held in the home. When weather cooperates, I love to step outside!

Maternity & Newborn PHOTO Session Details

Maternity sessions are typically held outside, while newborn sessions are held inside using available window light in your home, though we might step outside if the weather allows. I follow safe, baby-led posing to highlight their natural state and gesture. As you will see in my portfolio, I don’t incorporate dramatic posing, wrapping, or props. I feel babies are sweet enough just as they are. I am happy to wear a mask when requested.

INVESTMENT

You have the option to bundle a maternity + newborn photography session and receive a discount when you book both sessions, or you may book an individual session for either maternity or newborn. You may book one, then decide later and still receive the discount.

A deposit and signed photo agreement is required to book your dates. Most maternity sessions are scheduled between 30 and 36 weeks. We’ll set a tentative date for your newborn session, and confirm after birth. Whenever possible and necessary, we can reschedule your outdoor session if it storms.
