Woodstock, Vermont | Family Photography

The days are slipping into autumn and the trees are starting to turn. My weekends are filled photographing families against the brilliance of the Upper Valley. The families shown below gave me the opportunity to photograph in Woodstock, Vermont. Some of my favorite locations to capture families and couples in Woodstock are the History Center with the Middle Covered Bridge and the river in the background, which always provides a great backdrop for traditional portraits and of children playing together. Making portraits of parents in addition the children is a favorite part of my family sessions. In most, the focus is to capture that mantlepiece photo of the entire family and also create candid lifestyle images of everyone’s connection with each other. I like to ensure that I also capture the parents as the couple that they are—the root of the family.

In Woodstock, Vermont, I also love to photograph at Faulkner Park, Billings Farm, Kelly Way Gardens, and easy hikes in the area. There’s always a new place to explore in Woodstock. Simply wondering around on the gorgeous side streets can provide a picturesque setting as well, in any season!
