Lake Sunapee Engagement Session | New Hampshire Portrait Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting Meaghan and Thomas for their Lake Sunapee engagement session. We initially planned to spend the entire session atop a hill overlooking the beautiful Lake Sunapee and surrounding mountains. However, unexpected spring gnats led us to change our plans and visit a second location at the docks in Newbury. Holding out for as long as we could, we captured stunning shots with the early spring foliage, view of the lake, and picturesque sky as our backdrop. The light greens and yellows of the new leaves added a fresh, vibrant touch to the images, making them extra lovely.

The docks in Newbury, New Hampshire are quickly becoming a favorite spot for photos. The serene lake, coupled with the variety of settings in a small area, makes it ideal. There’s a charming trail that winds through the woods, perfect for capturing candid moments. The stairs and rocks offer great opportunities for seated images, while the stonework adds texture and depth. The light on this particular evening filtered through the trees and danced on the water, creating a mesmerizing sparkle, that’s always a joy and something I look for when photographing near the water.

I’m thrilled to be working with Meaghan and Tom and to capture their wedding in Hanover, NH this November. They are a dynamic couple, with Meaghan in the Air Force and Tom in the Army, both studying to become physicians. Their dedication and commitment to their careers and each other are truly inspiring. They are incredibly sweet, fun-loving, and deeply in love. Playful moments we shared during their engagement session and their genuine affection for each other produced such authentic images. I can’t wait to document their journey as they embark on this new chapter of their lives together.
