Grafton, Vermont | Fall Family Photo Session
While most of my family photography sessions take place in the Upper Valley, I was thrilled that this family contacted me to photograph them in Grafton, Vermont, since I grew up in the neighboring village of Saxtons River.
I took two trips south to Grafton to location scout, as it had been a while since I spent any time in the town. I toured the downtown area near the Grafton Inn, the McWilliam Bridge near the Grafton Village Cheese Company, and the Grafton Trails and Outdoors Center. On a return visit I checked out the grounds around the Windham Foundation, and the community garden and swimming pond. There are so many beautiful areas in this small village, and I think I only scratched the surface in my scout.
This family came together on a little getaway to explore the area and enjoy some quality time. They were so gracious with me and I love their style—those boots! I was surprised to learn that this was their first time ever having family portraits taken, since they were such naturals! I hope it will not be the last. I’m grateful to be invited into their moments relaxing together as a family in beautiful Grafton.
