What’s it like to work with me on your wedding day?

I’m often described as bubbly, happy, and friendly. I get excited during portraits, though I’m soft-spoken, so I may come across as a little quiet. I’m low-key and not intimidating. I have both introverted and extroverted qualities—I get along with everyone and appreciate direct personalities. I’m organized and focused but also flexible, easy-going, and equipped to handle chaos and the unexpected. I love a good list and checking things off of it. I’ll roll with the changes of the day while keeping everything on track.

How do you approach capturing a wedding day?

My approach is a blend of documentary storytelling and timeless portraits. I offer gentle direction during couple, wedding party, and family portraits and may step in briefly during getting ready moments to create polished shots. But when natural, meaningful moments are unfolding—like your mom zipping your dress or your best man adjusting your tie—I favor authenticity over staging. Throughout the rest of the day, I’m mostly hands-off so your gallery reflects your wedding day as it truly happened.

What is your editing style?

My images are light-inspired, vibrant, and joyful. I aim to preserve true-to-life tones and the natural atmosphere of your day. I lean toward bright compositions but will embrace moodier tones when the setting calls for it. Any black-and-white images I provide will also include the color version. I love color and want your gallery to reflect the full experience of your wedding.

Do you use PhotoShop to manipulate images?

My goal is always to get it right in-camera. That said, if I notice something distracting—like a water bottle, a stain, or something out of place—I’ll remove it. I’ll also clean up temporary distractions like blemishes or stray items, but I don’t alter physical appearances.

Do you shoot film?

Yes, I can bring a few 35mm and medium format film cameras if you’d like a mix of film portraits and candids. Film images are subject to availability and can’t be guaranteed.

Do you shoot video?

I specialize in photography but can recommend talented videographers. Occasionally, I’ll capture a simple ceremony video or add fun giphy-style animations to your gallery for social media.

What happens if you unexpectedly can’t photograph our wedding?

If you’ve opted for a second photographer, they may step in as lead. Otherwise, I would hire an associate photographer to capture your day, and I would still handle all editing to maintain consistency. In the rare case that coverage isn’t possible at all, you’ll receive a full refund.

Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?

Absolutely! Love is love. I capture all couples with joy and without hesitation.

Can you photograph at a venue you haven’t worked at before?

Yes! I love photographing at new venues. I collaborate with site coordinators or planners to familiarize myself with the space, and when possible, I’ll make a site visit before the wedding day.

Can we see a full gallery before booking?

Yes! I do ask that we have a consultation first to ensure privacy and protect past clients’ images. After that, I’ll happily share full galleries so you can see exactly what to expect. You may browse a generous amount of gallery highlights here.

What if we don’t want an engagement session?

No problem! You’re welcome to use that time as a credit toward an album, rehearsal dinner coverage, or a bonus portrait session after your wedding. Some couples opt for a second portrait session in their wedding attire at a dream location.

How much do your wedding packages cost?

My rates are set based on demand and the number of weddings I take on each year, which is usually 10-15. Once your contract is signed, your rate is locked in—even if my rates increase afterward. I share my current pricing openly and transparently. Travel within New England is always included, and your package comes with high-resolution digital files. There’s never any obligation to purchase prints through your gallery.

Do you travel beyond New England?

Yes! I’d be happy to consider weddings outside New England and can provide a custom quote. Typically, I photograph weddings in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts and rarely need an overnight stay unless your venue is more than three hours away. I also welcome podcast recommendations for long drives. 🙂

How many hours will the second photographer be present?

I recommend 6–8 hours of coverage for the second photographer so they can capture everything from getting ready through cocktail hour.

How will I receive the second photographer’s images?

Their images will be seamlessly edited and integrated into your gallery along with mine.

How do you coordinate and share with vendors?

I’ll connect with your site coordinator or planner about a month before your wedding to finalize your timeline. I’ll also work closely with videographers, DJs, florists, and other vendors. After your wedding, I share select images with vendors in your gallery under “Highlights” and “Settings & Details,” which may be used on their social media or websites.

Can you help me craft a timeline and find vendors?

I’ll provide example timelines and guidance on who much time is needed for various portraits. If you’re working with a planner or coordinator, I’ll collaborate with them. I’ll also send you a digital questionnaire three months before your wedding to gather key details. I have a list of recommended vendors and can assist with your search if needed.

How do you organize family photos?

You’ll provide a list of family groupings on your questionnaire, and we’ll dedicate about 30 minutes for family photos before or after the ceremony. If you have a large family, I recommend designating a “wrangler” from each side to help gather people. We’ll move through the list efficiently, and spontaneous group photos often happen throughout the day as well.

Do we need a First Look?

Not at all! Whether you choose to see each other before the ceremony is entirely up to you. Some couples opt for a First Look to ease nerves and maximize portrait time, while others prefer to wait. You can even get ready together and still have a First Look reveal in your wedding attire—there’s no wrong way to do it.

Will you send us a shot list?

I bring my own creative inspiration based on what you’ve shared about your priorities. I’m happy to review specific images you’d like to capture, and you can list them on your questionnaire. I’ll do my best to capture everything, though I can’t guarantee every shot—weddings are beautifully unpredictable.

When will we receive our gallery?

You’ll receive a sneak peek within 48 hours and your full gallery within three weeks. This turnaround time is written into your contract. Your gallery will remain live for six months, and extensions are available if needed.

Can we control who sees our images?

If you prefer to keep your gallery private, we can discuss a non-disclosure agreement. I share specific images with vendors in designated sections of your gallery. You also have the option to “hide” any images you don’t want shared online or visible to others. Occasionally, I share full galleries with serious prospective clients and ask them not to download or distribute images. Let me know if you’d like to opt out of this.

How do you safeguard our images?

My second photographer and I shoot on two memory cards while photographing your wedding day which creates a redundancy in the very off chance that one card fails. These cards are loaded onto a hard drive when I get home, even if that’s 1 am! I keep one copy of the images on the SD cards until the images are successfully backed up to the cloud. Images are then edited, and posted to the gallery. Edit RAWS are continuous backed-up. I never delete the selected, edited, RAW files. Even when your gallery “archives” it’s still available for me to switch on, however, I don’t guarantee access to your gallery past a year or so from your wedding, though I do have the edited RAW files on hand.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes! I’m a registered LLC with general liability insurance and can provide proof if needed.
