Springtime Grafton Vermont Wedding at The Grafton Inn | Vermont Wedding Photographer
Amelia and Robert’s springtime Grafton, Vermont wedding at the Grafton Inn was nothing less than the perfect, classic Vermont wedding we all imagined it would be. Living in Kentucky at the time of the wedding may have influenced the notable derby theme. Their Grafton Vermont wedding coincided with Kentucky Derby weekend, and the dinner tables were each named after competing horses. Amelia has ties to Vermont, which is what drew the couple here for their wedding day.
Amelia and Robert got ready at White Gates and Barrett House, steps away from the Grafton Inn. Both spaces are ornate with historic charm, beautiful furnishings and decor, and lovely light. I adored the vintage blue wallpapered bright room that Amelia dressed in. It was a lovely backdrop for images with her mom and sister. Her gown was re-imagined and embellished by her mother, who also provided many of the decor florals. The sweeping staircase made for a lovely entrance down to see Robert for the first time on their wedding day, ahead of the ceremony.
The couple shared a “first look” on the grounds of White Gates. The sun shined brightly on their wedding day, so for even lighting for pictures, I tucked them into the shade of the red barn for this sentimental moment. After they shared a few moments together, we created bright, happy, and romantic portraits of them around the grounds, followed by portraits with their family.
A special touch to their ceremony, which was held in the Grafton Community Garden, was the bagpiper who ushered guests across the street. Following their vows, the bagpiper led Amelia, Robert, and all their guests back to the Grafton Inn for cocktail hour on the patio, and the reception in the Phelps Barn. It was such a wonderful sight, and I imagine, a very special experience for the couple and all their friends and family who joined them for their day.
I am in awe of the glorious weddings I am privileged to capture here in New England, and Amelia and Robert’s wedding at The Grafton Inn was such a wonderful start to my wedding season!
My best wishes on a long, splendid journey together in marriage!
