Christie and Karl’s Vermont wedding was held at Camp Betsey Cox<\/a> in Pittsford, where Christie stayed in the summer growing up. I met with Christie and Karl in July for their engagement session at Intervale Farm<\/a> in Burlington. One of the first things they mentioned was how they planned to attend their ceremony barefoot! This made my native Vermont heart smile, and conjured summer memories of running barefoot in our big back yard, under the willow tree, and through the vegetable garden. Christie and Karl struck me as a quiet, kind couple, grounded in the earth, the present, and each other.<\/p>\n\n\n

Woodsy Camp Wedding in Vermont
<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fast-forward to their September 3 wedding day! Christie and Karl worked with Linda and Ted Fondulas of Odyssey Events<\/a> to plan a wedding with a woodsy camp vibe accentuated by wildflowers, candles, and rustic decor in harmony with the natural beauty of the outdoors. Camp co-directors Lorrie and Devri Byrom ensured we knew how to find everything and everyone throughout the day, and even the way back to my car at the end of the night! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting Ready and First Look<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While Christie got ready offsite, I photographed Karl’s finishing touches after he readied in the camp’s Haystack cabin. I admire their custom wedding bands by Connie Coleman Studio<\/a> fashioned after the twigs they collected during Karl’s proposal. Christie met Karl in the upper meadow for their first look via a short hike through the woods. The couple shared a private moment where they read long, deeply personal vows to each other. I stood out of earshot while capturing this genuine, tender moment on their special day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ceremony<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was held in the camp community garden. They were married under a natural arbor decorated with flowers by Woolf Den Homestead<\/a>. Music filled the ceremony. Friends, Lizzy played guitar and Martha sang as guests sipped champagne served by Reel Tipsy<\/a>. Family members carried a single flower to place in a vase at the end of the aisle, as they processed into the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reception<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dinner, family dances, and speeches were held in the lodge, filled with tables covered in white linens topped with floral centerpieces, and sage fabric entwined with twinkle lights. Candles and flowers were placed in a large stone fireplace. Strands of lights and candles filled the space with a warm glow. Lizzie of Woolf Den and family all contributed to the set-up of the ceremony and reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After dinner, guests transitioned to the tent for cake and dessert, the first dance, and to party! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music was at the heart of Christie and Karl’s day, and their story would not be complete without sharing some of their soundtrack!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
